A helicopter conveying top senior government officials is feared to have crashed in Bayelsa State.
The former National Security Adviser, Andrew Azazi; and Kaduna State
Governor, Patrick Yakowa are among those believed to be inside the
helicopter. The occupants are feared dead, although there is no official confirmation yet.
The dignitaries were believed to be travelling to attend the burial
ceremony of the father of Presidential Adviser, Oronto Douglas.
The spokesperson for the National Emergency Management
Agency could not be reached for comment on the crash. Other zonal
coordinators of the agency, however, said they are not yet aware of it.
Rescue officials say they are still trying to locate a helicopter that crashed into a creek in Bayelsa
