Lead Investigator in Pistorius's Murder Case wanted for Attempted Murder

Hilton Botha, the lead dectective for Oscar Pistorius's murder charges is himself a wanted man.
He is wanted on 7 charges of attempted murder and has been dropped from Oscar's murder trial.
According to DailyMail Uk:
Detective Hilton Botha, whose performance during the athlete's bail hearing drew laughter yesterday, is facing seven counts of attempted murder and is due to appear in court in May.

He and two other police officers are accused of firing shots while trying to stop a minibus in an incident believed to have happened in October 2011.

The news of his removal from the investigation came as Pistorius was due to find out today if he will be granted bail after being charged with the premeditated murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

During the alleged incident in 2009, the three officers opened fire on a mini-bus taxi containing seven passengers while apparently drunk and in a state-owned vehicle.

The three were arrested in 2011, according to reports.

Charges against the officer, who has been a policeman for 24 years, were initially dropped before dramatically being reinstated yesterday.

Police spokesman Neville Malila told South Africa's Eye Witness News: 'There was a decision taken by the DPP’s office to charge the members, each one of them with seven counts of attempted murder. That was the number of people that were in the taxi.'
