Petrol Scarcity worsens as marketers sell for N150

In order news, fuel scarcity continues as there are reports that the product now sells between N110 and N150 per litre in different parts of the country.

According to reports, as of yesterday, some filling stations in Lagos were selling for N130 per liter.
A spokesperson of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, Mr Omar Ibrahim, said  NNPC alone could not import, distribute and sell products across the country effectively. He said the support of oil marketers was needed to achieve full success in the supply chaiin.
He further stated, "It is even dangerous for the NNPC alone to be doing this, we'll be creating a monopoly. The whole concept of privatisation will be defeated."

Also speaking was the Director, Department of Petroleum Resources, in his statement, he said "Any marketer, who fixes arbitrary prices, shall be sanctioned, the affected facility will be shut and the operating licence withdrawn."

I had a personal experience too on Saturday when i went to get fuel and after a very long time of queuing, we bought the fuel  for normal price and then the manager of the fuel station asked us to give him about N500 extra. Imagine for buying the fuel from him, we were outraged at first but we later had to give him N200 when he refused to let us move.
Hmm...e go better o....!
