Winner of roach-eating contest dies

 

Edward Archbold, 32, became ill and died after emerging winner in a roach eating contest (o! this is so gross)
The contest which included 30 other contestants also consisted of eating dozens of live bugs as well as worms.

 Mr Edward who lives in South Florida became ill after the contest and then collapsed in front of the store where the contest took place, from there he was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
According to the store owner, Ben Sigel, "He looked like he just wanted to show off and was very nice," adding that Archbold was "the life of the party."
A statement from Siegel's attorney said all the participants signed waivers "accepting responsibility for their participation in this unique and unorthodox contest."
The bugs consumed were from an inventory of insects "that are safely and domestically raised in a controlled environment as food for reptiles."
